Welcome to Shell Creek Ink.

The fish depicted here are caught in the Fort Myers/Sanibel area in Southwest Florida, the Florida Keys and the Bahamas.

Each fish is inked and printed by hand, in a process called gyotaku.

In Japan, before photography, fisherman used this method to take a "picture" of their large fish, proving the size of their catch.

By printing fish, I do not wish to imply that I am not a liar. That would be lying. But I do hope you enjoy these prints.
