Two Moons

If you look at these fish from the front, they are so flat they almost disappear. From the side, they appear to be looking down their noses at something.

I love the shape of these fish, especially their uppity attitude and long trailing fins. Flat fish are easy on the paper when I'm printing them. The more you have to wrap the paper around a fish, the more you risk distorting its image. There's not much risk of that with a lookdown.

These fish are known as horseheads or lookdowns. They are often called moonfish, too.

You can order prints in four sizes: 5" X 7", 8" X 10", 11"X14", and signed, numbered, limited edition 13" X 19". You can special order larger sizes on canvas or on art paper. Send an email to snookpig@yahoo.com to order!
