Toro Toro

This is a toro. When we caught it, my friends and I did not know this. In fact, this fish with enormous golden eyes and spectacularly colored scales baffled everyone until the staff at Saltwater Sportsman magazine told us it is a toro, good eating by the way.

By then I had painted the fish with its own striking colors. Unfortunately, I did not think we'd be wise to eat this as-yet unidentified fish, so my lucky, lucky cat got quite the feast.

We caught the toro in 600 feet of water in the Keys. It is known as bigeye toro and comico.
