Filefish

Nature provided all the color I needed to do a print of this scrawled filefish. Its tan body shows off the brilliant blue lines and spots that adorn it. With its flat, compact body, sandpaper-like skin and dramatic fins, including the long, slender front dorsal fin and interesting tail, this fish makes a great subject for gyotaku.

The filefish floats head down so it appears to be a piece of debris, camouflaged from prey or predator, even with its extravagent colors and fins.

You can order prints in four sizes: 5" X 7", 8" X 10", 11"X14", and signed, numbered, limited edition 13" X 19". You can special order larger sizes on canvas or on art paper. Send an email to snookpig@yahoo.com to order!
