Charlie’s family came to Fort Myers in the early 1900s.
He started fishing off the docks at Saint James City on Pine Island. His family spent weekends on the
island, where sheephead and snapper were plentiful along the seawalls.
Then, his grandfather and father taught him to run a small boat, and catch redfish in the mangroves. Snook, his favorite
local gamefish, followed.
Now Charlie fishes out of his home on Shell Creek between Fort Myers and Sanibel. His daughters like to fish with him.
